Black Clover Phantom Mobile Game now available in English from Bandai Namco

Bandai Namco, a prominent video game publisher and developer, has released the English version of Black Clover: Phantom Knights, a popular mobile game adaptation of the Black Clover anime and manga series. The game was initially launched in Japan in July 2018, where it gained a loyal following from fans of the property who appreciated the strategic RPG gameplay that captured the essence of the anime’s universe and setting.

Now, the game is available to Black Clover fans worldwide through both the iOS App Store and the Android Play Store. Players can form their own brigade with their favorite characters and protect the kingdom in this Kingdom Defense RPG. The game features a multitude of characters, including the Clover Kingdom’s Magic Knights, the Diamond Kingdom, and even the Eye of the Midnight Sun.

The Black Clover series, created by Yuki Tabata, first launched in 2015 and quickly became popular worldwide. The story follows the protagonists Asta and Yuno as they work their way to the top of the Order of the Magic Knights in the Kingdom of Clover.

In the Black Clover: Phantom Knights mobile game, players must defend the kingdom and create the strongest Magic Knights Brigade. The gameplay is all magic-based, and players can create combos by working together with the Arcane Arts. While the gameplay is automatic, fans hope that Bandai Namco will add in manual gameplay to strategize more effectively.

The game features an original story and a new character named Jien, who has been added specifically for the game. Players progress through various missions to advance through the unique storyline, which is separate from the anime and manga.

Although the game has been available in Japan for almost two years, Bandai Namco continues to release updates and new events. However, since the game is still new outside of Japan, there has only been one event so far. More events are likely to be added throughout the year and beyond.

The game is free to play but has some in-app purchases. Players can use BlackJewel sets to summon characters, but these summons are randomized and can end up being costly. The cheapest BlackJewel set costs $0.99, while the most expensive is $79.99. While the game starts out free, players may feel tempted to pay for these sets to recruit better characters.

Overall, Black Clover: Phantom Knights is a welcome addition to the anime mobile gaming world, and Bandai Namco has done a great job capturing the essence of the anime in a mobile game. The game is a must-try for Black Clover fans who want a new game to kill time or for those who are interested in the shonen genre.
