My Hero Academia chapter 388: Todoroki family reunion ups stakes in Dabi vs Endeavor fight (spoilers and raw scans)

On Monday, May 15th, My Hero Academia fans can expect chapter 388 to be released in Shueisha’s weekly Shonen Jump issue 24. The chapter is titled “Toya,” and spoilers have already been leaked, revealing exciting details about what’s to come.

Chapter 387 left off with Geten revealing that he was a Himura and that his family is prone to latent awakenings. Back in Gunga, Endeavor attempted to get Dabi high enough in the sky that his detonation wouldn’t harm anyone else. However, he soon realized that Dabi’s near-death situation had awakened his latent ice quirk. Just then, Rei Todoroki arrived at the scene.

Chapter 388 is said to continue where the previous chapter left off and contains a flashback. According to the spoilers, the chapter starts with a flashback to the underground shelters at UA, where Kendo stops AFO’s spies and instructs civilians to use the robotic vehicles to escape the situation at Gunga. The Todoroki family disobeys the orders not to look at where Dabi has created the Heat Sphere and realizes the dire situation.

After realizing the danger, Rei asks Natsuo to protect his sister as she instructs one of the vehicles, which must obey a human’s command, to carry her up to the battle. Chapter 388 then cuts back to the present, with the vehicle destroyed, and Rei continues to burn. She calls out to Toya, ignoring Endeavor’s warning that she will perish if she remains there any longer.

Dabi utters the word “mom” upon seeing Rei, followed by “Natsu” and “Fuyumi,” making her realize that her other two children have followed her to the battle. She scolds them for being there, but Fuyumi says she doesn’t want to lose anyone else. Natsuo wonders what would have happened if he had listened to Toya’s complaints when they were younger and urges his older brother to come back to them.

Endeavor considers using his fire to propel Dabi away from the rest of his family and hopes that they do not die in the skirmish. The spoilers end with a panel of the Todoroki family greeting a grown-up Toya, who has no scars and is wearing Dabi’s long coat. Curiously, Shoto Todoroki is absent from this image.

My Hero Academia chapter 388 spoilers confirm readers’ expectations of seeing the two middle Todoroki siblings at Gunga and explain how Rei got there and flew up to the battle. Given that Rei has a powerful ice quirk, and so do Natsuo and Fuyumi, they may combine their power to save Toya if such a thing is at all possible. It’s still unclear if Dabi’s newly awakened ice quirk will be mentioned in this chapter. Fans are also curious about the absence of Shoto Todoroki in the panel and what it could signify, considering that he is already on his way to Gunga.
