Japan’s All Nippon Airways (ANA) has unveiled its highly anticipated Pikachu Jet NH, marking the arrival of the sixth and final Pokémon-themed aircraft in their Air Adventures series. Following the announcement made just three months ago, the special Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner has now entered commercial service, captivating passengers with its vibrant Pokémon-themed design.
The grand unveiling of the Pikachu Jet NH took place at Tokyo Haneda International Airport, where ANA showcased the aircraft’s stunning livery at one of its hangars. The event was attended by ANA’s cabin crew, executives, and, of course, Pikachu itself, adding a touch of whimsical charm to the occasion. Designed in collaboration with the Pokémon Company, the livery features the Legendary Sky High Pokémon Rayquaza, elegantly soaring across the widebody fuselage. Alongside Rayquaza, fans can spot other beloved Pokémon such as Charizard, Latios, Latias, Rowlet, Vivillion, and, of course, Pikachu.
Each Pokémon-themed aircraft in ANA’s fleet carries a unique theme, and the Pikachu Jet NH symbolizes hope, interconnectedness, and the endless possibilities of a world filled with joy and wonder. Among the six Pokémon Air Adventures aircraft operated by ANA, including those by Skymark Airlines, China Airlines, Scoot, and T’way Air, the Pikachu Jet NH stands out as a truly captivating masterpiece.
Following the grand reveal, the Pikachu Jet NH embarked on its inaugural flight from Tokyo Haneda to Bangkok, spreading delight and excitement among passengers. As travelers boarded the aircraft, they were greeted with special boarding music and received commemorative gifts, immersing them in the Pokémon world from the moment they stepped on board. ANA’s cabin crew adorned Pokémon-themed uniforms, further enhancing the enchanting atmosphere on the flight.
With departure time around 11:36, NH 847 took off from Tokyo Haneda International Airport, embarking on a nearly six-hour journey to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. The flight landed at its destination at approximately 15:21, marking the successful beginning of the Pikachu Jet NH’s commercial operations. Seido Terasawa, General Manager of ANA in Thailand, expressed pride and honor in operating the debut flight of the Pikachu Jet NH, emphasizing ANA’s commitment to delivering exceptional experiences to passengers.
Later that evening, the Pikachu Jet NH continued its journey with flight NH 850, departing from Bangkok at 21:55 and arriving back in Tokyo the following day at 05:30. Building on the success of the inaugural flight, the aircraft was subsequently deployed on flights NH 855 and NH 856 on June 5th, making its much-anticipated debut at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport before returning to Tokyo.
The Pikachu Jet NH is scheduled to operate until October 28th, offering its unique and captivating flying experience from Tokyo Haneda International Airport to various destinations around the world. Passengers can look forward to encountering this delightful aircraft at airports such as Singapore’s Changi International Airport, New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, Ho Chi Minh City’s Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport, Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Sydney’s Kingsford Smith Airport, Vancouver International Airport, and Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. However, whether ANA will extend the flight schedules or add more routes for the Pikachu Jet NH beyond October 28th remains uncertain, leaving aviation and Pokémon enthusiasts eagerly awaiting future developments.
