New trailer for English-subtitled Black Clover movie released

On Saturday, Netflix released a second trailer for the highly anticipated Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King (Black Clover: Mahо̄tei no Ken) anime film. Originally scheduled to debut on March 31, the film was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and will now be released on June 16th, with Netflix streaming it on the same day.

Fans of the Black Clover manga series will be pleased to know that original manga creator Yūki Tabata is serving as the chief supervisor and original character designer for the film. Staff members from the television anime are also returning for the movie, with Ayataka Tanemura (Black Clover) directing, Itsuko Takeda designing the characters, and Minako Seki composing the music.

The movie will be distributed in Japan by Toho, and those who attend screenings will receive the “Volume 23.5” bonus book, which will include character designs of the film’s original characters designed by Yūki Tabata, a short novel by film writer Johnny Onda, and an interview with voice actors. However, this bonus book will only be available during the film’s first week of release and in limited numbers.

The Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King anime film also features an impressive voice cast. Toshihiko Seki will play Konrad Leto, a former Wizard King, while actress and model Marie Iitoyo will voice the original character Milly Maxwell. Fumiya Takahashi will play Jester Galandros, a mysterious wizard who was associated with the previous wizard king, and Miyuki Sawashiro will play Princia. Houchu Ohtsuka, on the other hand, will play Edward in the film.

In addition to the bonus book and the impressive voice cast, Treasure will perform the film’s theme song “Here I Stand,” which fans of the franchise are eagerly anticipating. With its stunning visuals and promising storyline, Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King is poised to be one of the most successful anime films of the year.
