An artist pays tribute to Mirko from My Hero Academia in Oshi no Ko

The artist behind Oshi no Ko, one of the most popular new anime releases of the Spring 2023 anime schedule, has shared a special tribute to the beloved Rabbit Hero Mirko from Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia manga franchise. Mirko has become one of the most standout heroes from the franchise overall, and fans have been drawn to her fierce personality and impressive fighting skills.

Oshi no Ko has quickly gained a following with fans, and its popularity has even led to increased sales of the original manga release. The anime, which is a special team-up between Kaguya-sama: Love is War creator Aka Akasaka and Scum’s Wish creator Mengo Yokoyari, has done incredibly well with fans due to its extended 90-minute first episode. The story follows Dr. Gorou Amemiya, who secretly delivers the child of a young pregnant starlet named Ai Hoshino, only to be slain by Ai’s deluded stalker. He is then reborn as Ai’s child, Aquamarine Hoshino, and becomes determined to help his new mother rise to the top of the entertainment industry.

Despite the success of Oshi no Ko, the series illustrator Mengo Yokoyari continues to be a huge fan of other works, including My Hero Academia. She recently took to Twitter to share her tribute to the Rabbit Hero Mirko, which features a slick spin on the fan-favorite character.
