Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Drops New Visual For Anime’s Return

After a long hiatus, the Bleach anime has made its much-awaited return to the small screen. The anime adaptation is focusing on the Thousand Year Blood War arc, which features the battle between Ichigo and his allies against the Wandenreich, a faction of the Quincy Family. As they fight this new threat, new revelations are being revealed about Ichigo’s past.

Studio Pierrot, the studio that handled the first seasons of Bleach, has brought the anime back to life. The studio has worked on other big anime properties such as Naruto, Black Clover, and Tokyo Ghoul to name a few. As we’ve seen in the first batch of episodes of the Thousand Year Blood War, the studio has taken a more mature approach to Bleach’s return, showing death and destruction that is a part of this storyline. Yhwach and his forces have killed countless Soul Reapers and wreaked havoc across the afterlife.

With the Blood War Part 2 set to release this July, fans are eagerly anticipating what the anime has in store. While a precise release date for the second part of the Blood War hasn’t been announced yet, Japan will receive a preview of the first two installments at the end of June. Ichigo’s background as part Quincy is sure to be explored, and fans are hoping to learn more about his new power that was teased in the new key visual.

While the anime adaptation is continuing its comeback, the Bleach manga has yet to reveal if new chapters are on the way. Creator Tite Kubo released a special chapter in 2021, which showed us Ichigo and several other Soul Society members in the future, many of whom are now parents. While nothing has been confirmed, this new installment certainly sets the stage for a big Bleach return. Fans are hopeful that Kubo will continue the manga and provide a satisfying conclusion to the beloved series.
