IMAX appoints Anne Globe, a Skydance and DreamWorks Animation veteran, as Chief Marketing Officer

IMAX has recently announced the appointment of Anne Globe as its new Chief Marketing Officer, ushering in a seasoned executive with a rich background in brand management and marketing within the entertainment industry. In her elevated role, Globe is set to steer the ship for IMAX, overseeing brand strategy, film marketing, creative endeavors, and social media initiatives for this leading large-format exhibitor and entertainment technology platform.

Globe brings a wealth of experience to her new position, having previously served as Chief Marketing Officer at Skydance Media and DreamWorks Animation. Her track record underscores her versatility and deep industry connections, having played integral roles in elevating creative work across various mediums. IMAX CEO Rich Gelfond lauded Globe’s multifaceted expertise, emphasizing the significance of her leadership as IMAX continues to bring a diverse array of films and events to audiences globally.

Reflecting on the achievements of IMAX in 2023, a year marked by awe-inspiring experiences, Gelfond expressed confidence in Globe’s ability to contribute to the company’s growth. Globe herself acknowledged the unique position of IMAX as a globally admired brand with substantial momentum, presenting an exciting opportunity to redefine audience engagement.

In her previous role at Skydance Media, Globe oversaw a comprehensive portfolio, managing brand, marketing, digital initiatives, social media, corporate communications, and licensing across various media platforms, including movies, animation, TV, and interactive games. Notably, she played a pivotal role in shaping marketing and distribution strategies for Skydance’s major intellectual properties, including Mission: Impossible, Terminator, and Jack Reacher.

Globe’s contributions also extend to her tenure at DreamWorks Animation, where she led marketing, distribution, and licensing efforts for iconic franchises such as Kung Fu Panda, How to Train Your Dragon, Shrek, and Madagascar. Her experience in managing diverse and successful marketing campaigns for these beloved franchises positions her as a valuable asset for IMAX as it looks to expand its offerings.

Beyond her corporate roles, Globe has been an adjunct professor for the University of Southern California’s Business of Cinematic Arts program since 2018. She is also an esteemed member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Women in Film, Women in Animation, and the American Film Institute.
