Pol Espargaró

Pol Espargaró was born on JUN 10, 1991 is another super talent from the Catalan factory of motorcycling world champions. 2006 was a breakthrough year for Pol when he became the youngest-ever rider to score a World Championship point (in the 125cc class) at a tender 15 years and eight days, and he also wrapped up the Spanish National title. The progress from there was rapid, as he scored his first GP podium the following year, and in 2009 he picked up two wins.
2010 was one of the most memorable 125cc title fights ever, as he battled Márquez and Nico Terol to the end for the crown, eventually losing out to Márquez. The stage was set for a step up to Moto2™, and Espargaró adopted fast, finishing runner-up in his second campaign in 2012 as that man Márquez again proved his main rival.
In 2013, Espargaró finally achieved his dream and was crowned World Champion as he dominated the Moto2™ class. Espargaró and Red Bull KTM Factory Racing made steady progress towards the sharp end of the field during the 2019 season, battling for top 10 positions on a regular basis. The following season the Spaniard would secure five podium finishes as he ended the season in fifth place overall.
For the 2021 campaign, Espargaró joined the Repsol Honda Team but was only able to secure a single podium finish. Determined to put a disappointing season behind him, he began the 2022 season in superb style with third place in Qatar.
