Marvel’s Star Wars comics uncover Anakin Skywalker and Thrawn’s first meeting

What makes this mission particularly intriguing is the revelation that Thrawn and Vader have a shared history, a connection dating back to a time when Vader was known as Anakin Skywalker.

The narrative takes an unexpected turn as it transports readers to the past, revealing a pivotal moment that brings Anakin Skywalker and Thrawn together. Padme Amidala’s journey to Batuu, triggered by a message from her ally Duja, sets the stage for this meeting. Despite Duja’s untimely demise, Padme uncovers a hidden message on his body, revealing the existence of a Separatist factory on the planet Mokivj. Determined to investigate, Padme’s actions lead her into a partnership with Thrawn.

Simultaneously, Anakin Skywalker, deeply concerned about Padme’s safety, arrives on Batuu in search of her. However, instead of finding Padme, he encounters an alien spaceship piloted by none other than Commander Thrawn, an officer of the Chiss Ascendancy. Despite initial differences, the two are forced to join forces and head to Batuu, setting the stage for a series of events that will shape their future interactions.

Returning to the present timeline, Thrawn, now a Grand Admiral in the Imperial Navy, and Darth Vader revisit Batuu. Their mission involves facing a new threat posed by violent aliens known as Darshi. The issue concludes with a suspenseful cliffhanger, teasing a cantina-fight where Thrawn and Vader confront the formidable Darshi.
