Disney brings back Phineas and Ferb with Dan Povenmire

Disney Branded TV has recently sealed an expansive overall deal with highly talented writer and animator, Dan Povenmire. This comprehensive agreement includes the exciting revival of the beloved animated series, Phineas and Ferb, which Povenmire co-created alongside Jeff “Swampy” Marsh.

As part of this remarkable deal, Povenmire will helm the production of two brand-new seasons of Phineas and Ferb, totaling an impressive 40 episodes. Originally airing from 2008 to 2015 on Disney Channel and Disney XD, this immensely popular series centers around the adventurous exploits of two step-brothers who ingeniously tackle the monotonous nature of summer break. Garnering widespread acclaim, Phineas and Ferb has received the prestigious honor of winning five Emmy Awards, solidifying its status as one of Disney TV Animation’s most triumphant shows among its target audience of kids (ages six to 11) and tweens/young teens (ages nine to 14), according to an official release.

In addition to the revitalization of Phineas and Ferb, the overall deal encompasses the production of a second season of Povenmire’s 2D-animated superhero comedy, Hamster & Gretel. This delightful series, which made its debut on Disney Channel in August, revolves around the adventures of a young girl and her trusty pet hamster who embark on thrilling missions after transforming into extraordinary superheroes. Continuing his role as an executive producer, Povenmire is set to bring more enchantment and laughter to viewers through this imaginative show.

Beyond these remarkable animated ventures, Povenmire’s partnership with Disney Branded TV will extend into the development of captivating live-action content, further expanding the creative horizons of this esteemed collaboration.

In a display of commitment to providing high-quality entertainment, Disney Branded TV has also announced the renewal of three CGI-animated shows for Disney Junior. The beloved series Firebuds, which premiered last fall, will be returning for a second season, along with the charming SuperKitties, which recently commenced airing. Additionally, audiences can look forward to the release of the highly anticipated Pupstruction in the summer of 2023. These renewals demonstrate Disney’s unwavering dedication to delivering engaging and captivating content to its young viewers.

With the dynamic combination of Phineas and Ferb’s much-anticipated return, the continued adventures of Hamster & Gretel, the exciting development of live-action projects, and the renewal of beloved animated shows, Disney Branded TV and Dan Povenmire’s overall deal promises an abundance of entertainment and delight for fans of all ages.
