My Hero Academia on hiatus before Chapter 390

The My Hero Academia manga has unexpectedly gone on another unannounced break, causing a delay in the release of chapter 390. However, fans need not worry, as the Shonen Jump editorial team has reassured them that the break was taken for production reasons and that the next chapter will be available on June 5, 2023.

Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia follows the journey of Izuku Midoriya, a young boy who inherits the powerful One For All quirk from the legendary hero All Might. Despite being initially quirkless, Izuku trains diligently to master his newfound abilities while combating villains, particularly their enigmatic leader, All For One.

The sudden break in the My Hero Academia manga was announced in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump #26 in Japan. The magazine disclosed that the manga would be on hiatus for a week due to necessary production corrections that needed to be made to the draft before its publication. Unfortunately, these corrections could not be completed in time for the printing process, leading to the unexpected break. However, readers can look forward to the series resuming as scheduled in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump #27, with chapter 390 set to be released worldwide on Monday, June 5, 2023.

As is common when a manga takes an abrupt break, fans expressed concern for Kohei Horikoshi’s well-being, assuming that the mangaka might be facing difficulties with his demanding schedule. Some fans even suggested that he should take a more extended break of two to three months to ensure his health and well-being.

While the notice clarified that the break was due to production reasons, fans remained skeptical and speculated about the creator’s health. The frequency of these sudden breaks has led some to believe that Horikoshi may be struggling to manage his workload effectively. However, not all fans were supportive of prolonged breaks and instead proposed a one-month break followed by a resumption of the manga. Despite these concerns, it is evident that Horikoshi is determined to keep surprising his fans with unexpected breaks, prioritizing the continuation of the series over extended periods of rest.

Furthermore, although the stated reason behind the breaks is production-related, some fans have started to question the validity of these explanations. Nevertheless, there are supporters who appreciate the dedication and commitment Horikoshi shows to My Hero Academia, considering the breaks as proof of his unwavering devotion to the series and its quality.
