Iida’s support for Shoto in the Todoroki conflict in My Hero Academia is logical and fitting

Following Dabi’s confrontation with Endeavor at Gunga, both Iida and Shoto embark on a pursuit to face the antagonist head-on. In the upcoming chapters, Iida is expected to resume his crucial supporting role, fighting alongside Shoto to subdue Dabi and save the Todoroki family. This narrative decision also explains why other close friends of Shoto, such as Momo, Midoriya, Sero, Inasa, and Camie, take a step back, as it provides an opportunity for Iida to shine and deepen his bond with Shoto.
