How Powerful Was Obito’s Kamui in Naruto?

How powerful was Obito’s most formidable technique, Kamui?

The Mangekyo Sharingan is a rare and prestigious eye technique that elevates an Uchiha above their clan and makes them legends in the ninja world. It gives each user a special power that is different for each person, and can be seen in the shape of their eye pattern. One of the most impressive powers is Obito Uchiha’s Kamui, which lets him manipulate space and time to become untouchable and transport himself or others to another dimension.

Obito used Kamui to fight against some of the strongest ninjas in Naruto, such as the Fourth Hokage, Naruto, Killer B, and many Uchihas. He could use Kamui without any drawbacks, unlike Kakashi who had the same power but suffered from low chakra and vision loss. He was much stronger with Kamui than before he had it, and his ability changed the balance of power in the ninja world. It is worth exploring how Kamui made Obito so powerful and how it affected the rest of the story.

The Ability to Become Untouchable

Obito used his right eye, the only one he had for most of the series after giving his left eye to Kakashi, to send things or people to Kamui’s dimension in a short distance. He did not always need to touch them to do this. When he used this technique, a swirling hole came out of his eye and pulled his target into the dimension. Once they were there, they could not be found or felt by anyone outside. Some people think this technique is better than Minato’s Flying Thunder God, but they are very different.

Obito often used this technique on himself to go between dimensions, either to move quickly or to avoid attacks he could not block. He also used it to make parts of his body disappear into Kamui’s dimension, making him seem like he could not be touched. Anything that touched him, like clothes, weapons, or enemies, went through him without hurting him. Obito also used Kamui to hide underground and attack enemies by surprise. He dodged attacks from Minato, Konan, Fu and Torune, and the Five Kage with Kamui, showing how powerful it was. He did not need to train hard like other ninjas to fight them. He also pretended to be weak and clumsy as Tobi, but he never got hurt by any attacks because of Kamui.

The Power of Teleportation

Obito’s left eye, which Kakashi had for most of Naruto, let him use a long range version of the technique, but he was not very good at it because he had low chakra and he was not an Uchiha. He could make a swirling portal anywhere he wanted, and anything inside it would go to Kamui’s dimension. He first used this technique to cut off Deidara’s arm when he was chasing him to save the Kazekage. Kakashi had trouble aiming it and got very tired after using it a few times. He got better at it later and was able to teleport away fast nails that Pain threw at him and Choji.

When used with the right eye, these two eye powers are some of the best techniques in Naruto, and Obito became one of the strongest ninjas of his time with them. He did not use many other techniques because Kamui was very effective against any enemy. He could use it against very strong enemies in any situation, whether they were close or far away, or many or few. This is one of the best things about Kamui, and it makes up for its few weaknesses and drawbacks when Obito uses it well. He could also use his intangibility to make fights last longer and find out his enemy’s weak points and attack them before they understood his eye power.

The Only Weak Spot

Kamui had very few drawbacks compared to its many amazing benefits, and the biggest problem for Obito was that he gave his left eye to Kakashi. Kakashi could use his eye to counter Obito’s powerful eye technique, where he could go to Kamui’s dimension and hurt the parts of Obito’s body that he sent there to make himself untouchable. Kakashi could also go between the two dimensions whenever he wanted, stopping Obito from escaping when he was in trouble. This led to their final fight in Kamui’s dimension during the Fourth Ninja War, where Kakashi broke the Cursed Seal on Obito’s heart with his Lightning Blade.

Other than that, one of Kamui’s only other drawbacks was how long Obito could keep it on. He could only use Kamui for five minutes at most, and Konan tried to use this against him when she fought him. Obito had to use Izanagi to get out of this, but he did not have this problem very often because he used his Mangekyo Sharingan ability all the time. Also, he could not teleport and be intangible at the same time, so he could not run away while he was defending. And he was also exposed right before he attacked, when he had to become solid again — a small chance that Minato used with his Flying Thunder God – Level 2. Overall, Kamui was a very strong power for a ninja like Obito, and maybe even the strongest of all the Mangekyo Sharingan powers in Naruto, with very few weaknesses. It helped Obito do his job and stay hidden, controlling the Akatsuki to carry out the Eye of the Moon Plan.
