Koro Teacher Quest! Manga Spinoff from Assassination Classroom to be Adapted into Anime

The latest issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, which was released on Monday, announced that Koro-sensei Q!, a manga spinoff of Yusei Matsui’s Assassination Classroom, will be adapted into an anime series. The spinoff manga is authored by Jō Aoto and Kizuku Watanabe and was first published in Shueisha’s Saikyō Jump magazine in October 2015. It takes place in a world of swords and sorcery, where Koro-sensei is portrayed as a demon king.

Shueisha published the first compiled volume of Koro-sensei Q! on July 4, and the manga has been well-received by readers since its debut. The anime adaptation of the manga is set to be a continuation of the previous anime series that was released alongside the Ansatsu Kyōshitsu: 365-Nichi no Jikan anime compilation film. The films are scheduled to open in Japan on Saturday, providing fans with the perfect opportunity to enjoy a double feature.

The new anime series will be produced by Fuji Creative, and their English website has previously listed the Koro Teacher Quest! anime as having 12 episodes of 10 minutes each. Weekly Shonen Jump has promised to reveal further details about the upcoming series in future issues, so fans will have to wait a little longer to find out more.

The first television anime series based on the Assassination Classroom manga was a 22-episode series that premiered in Japan in January 2015. The second season of the show debuted in January 2016 and concluded in July of the same year. The original manga series concluded in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in March, leaving fans eager for more content. The announcement of the Koro-sensei Q! anime series will be a welcome addition to the franchise, and fans are already buzzing with excitement over the upcoming release.
