Haikyuu!! Funko Pop news disappoints fans

The recent announcement by Funko Pop! for its new line of Haikyuu!! figures has left fans feeling underwhelmed and disappointed. Haikyuu!! is a highly popular sports anime that has gained a massive following due to its unique style, engaging storyline, and beloved characters. This release seemed substantial for Haikyuu!!, but it did not include many of the fans’ favorite characters. Karasuno High’s team is the primary focus of the anime, but surprisingly, it’s not a fan favorite. Fans are more drawn to supporting teams and characters, such as Nekoma High School’s Tetsurō Kuroo, Fukurodani High’s Kōtarō Bokuto, and Aoba Johsai High’s Toru Oikawa, among others.

Even minor characters with just one or two on-screen appearances have managed to capture the hearts of the fans faster than some members of the Karasuno team. As a result, many fans were disappointed that Funko Pop! neglected to include these characters in the line-up, opting instead to focus solely on the Karasuno team.

One of the biggest issues fans had with the announcement was that Funko Pop! failed to include the beloved character, Kōshi Sugawara. The Karasuno team’s third-year setter is widely adored by fans worldwide, and his exclusion from the figure lineup was a significant mistake. Sugawara is known for his kind-hearted, motherly personality, which makes him an easy fan favorite, even after being replaced by Tobio Kageyama as the primary setter.

Many minor characters from the Karasuno team were included in Funko Pop!’s announcement, but the absence of Sugawara and other fan-favorites like Yamaguchi was a significant disappointment for fans. As a result, many Haikyuu!! enthusiasts took to social media to express their frustration, wishing for different teams and characters to be included in the line-up.
