“The Great Titan War” follows the central character Eren Yeager, but Mikasa was actually the first to be written by the author. After developing the story’s setting, Isayama came up with the idea for Mikasa and immediately started writing. saw that: Mikasa merged with… posters for the series.
2. Captain LEVI ACKERMAN
As one of the most elite warriors of mankind, Captain Levi was composed by the author when… graffiti. When he finished drawing, Isayama realized, this character has something special. Next, after watching the movie “Watchmen”, the author took his favorite character Rorschach as the basis of Levi’s personality design. Besides, the character Erwin Smith is also based on a character of “Watchmen” – Ozymandias.
3. GAMERA VS GYAOS & INTERNET CAFE
We can see the author of “The Great War of Titans” inspired the story from the movie “Godzilla” as well as other giant Japanese monsters. Isayama said that the scene of Titans eating humans was inspired by the movie “Gyaos vs Gamera: Guardians of The Universe”.
4. ISAYAMA TITAN!
To make sure the titans resembled humans as much as possible, artist Isayama had to use a book to look up facial expressions and even look at a series of random photographs. The simulation of real human faces gave the titans a surprising fear, especially when they opened their huge mouths to swallow humans.
5. CHARACTER SEX?
In “Attack on Titan”, the gender discrimination of the characters is quite… hard. For example, Hange Zoe, fans of the series are always arguing whether Hange is ultimately male or female. Author Isayama is always ambiguous on this issue. Recently, in an interview, when asked who is Mikasa Ackerman’s best female friend, the artist said: Well, well, it must be…Armin.
6. ATTACK ON TITANS CONTINUES BECAUSE…FAN
As soon as I started writing the series, author Isayama thought about the ending of “The Great Titan War”. Colleagues also told Isayama that it was necessary to know how the series would end before printing. However, the reception of fans as well as the influence of manga and anime made Isayama change his original mind.
7. ATTACK ON TITAN AT MARVEL UNIVERSITY!
The most shocking secret so far has been revealed: The Titan War is located in the Marvel universe. Fans have probably never seen the Titans clash with Iron Man, Captain America, or Spider-Man on the big screen, but “The Avengers” and Titan have fought.
