DreamWorks Animated Movie, Orion and the Dark, Reveals Teaser Trailer and Poster

Netflix and DreamWorks have unveiled a teaser trailer for the upcoming animated film, Orion and the Dark, following the release of several movie stills. The DreamWorks Animation production features Jacob Tremblay as Orion, Paul Walter Hauser as The Dark, and Werner Herzog in an undisclosed role. The teaser offers a glimpse into the characters and the artistic style of the film.

In Orion and the Dark, Jacob Tremblay’s character, Orion, appears as an ordinary elementary school kid with a secret crush but is plagued by irrational fears, including bees, dogs, the ocean, cell phone waves, and more. His greatest fear, however, is the dark. The film’s synopsis describes how Orion’s worst fear, embodied by The Dark, takes him on a global adventure to prove there’s nothing to fear in the night. As their bond strengthens, Orion must confront his anxieties and learn to embrace the unknown.

Directed by Sean Charmatz, known for Trolls World Tour, and based on Emma Yarlett’s novel, the film’s screenplay is crafted by Kaufman, the acclaimed writer of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Executive producers include Walt Dohrn and Bonnie Arnold, with Peter McCown serving as a producer. Tim Lamb and Christine Bian contribute as production designer and art director, respectively.
