Walt Disney World Annual Passholders are facing a somewhat challenging start to the new year, with a notable three-day dry spell in theme park reservations. As per the official Walt Disney World reservations calendar, all four parks are marked as fully booked for Annual Passholders from January 5 through January 7, 2024. Additionally, Magic Kingdom is also at capacity for passholders on January 4.
During this period, Walt Disney World continues to offer day tickets, and reservations are still open to guests staying at Walt Disney World hotels. It’s worth noting that on days when reservations are fully booked, Annual Passholders have the option to visit the theme parks after 2:00 pm without requiring a theme park reservation. However, this exemption does not apply on Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom. Passholders are advised to keep a close eye on the park pass reservation calendar, as additional capacity may be added.
The current lack of theme park reservations for Annual Passholders during this weekend is primarily attributed to the runDisney Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. This event tends to draw in a significant number of Walt Disney World regulars, many of whom are also Annual Passholders.
Looking ahead, Disney has plans to implement a new system called “Good-To-Go Days” for Walt Disney World Annual Passholders, starting from January 11. This initiative will allow Annual Passholders to enter the theme parks without the need for a reservation. However, it is speculated that even with this new system, busy periods, such as the upcoming weekend influenced by the marathon event, might still require passholders to secure reservations for entry.
