New Interactive ‘DuckTales’ Experience Coming to Disney Parks

The DuckTales World Showcase Adventure, initially introduced by Disney Parks Blog in 2019, was designed to whisk guests into an interactive treasure hunt, spanning across the World Showcase pavilions. Enlisting the innovative Play Disney Parks mobile app, this adventure invites participants to join the charming ensemble of DuckTales characters as they set out to recover the legendary Plunders, using their wit and skills to navigate through a host of exciting challenges. The countries of Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Japan, France, and the United Kingdom will serve as immersive backdrops for the intriguing assignments, each imbued with its own unique flavor and atmosphere.

While the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic led to a temporary pause on this eagerly anticipated experience, Disney has rekindled the excitement surrounding the project, pledging to integrate it as a cornerstone of EPCOT’s 40th-anniversary celebrations. Finally, the latest update has unveiled the long-awaited arrival date for this enthralling undertaking, causing excitement to bubble over within the Disney community.

Renowned theme park and entertainment news reporter Scott Gustin (@ScottGustin) recently shared a thrilling revelation — the DuckTales World Showcase Adventure will be officially unveiled at EPCOT on December 16, marking a significant addition to the park’s offerings. Gustin further elaborated on the adventure’s nature, explaining that participants will join forces with Scrooge McDuck, his nephews, and their friends to embark on a quirky escapade. Their mission? To locate the illustrious 7 Plunders of the World and restore them to their rightful places.

Each of the seven World Showcase pavilions will become an enchanting backdrop for interactive activities that tie seamlessly into the storyline. The treasures are cleverly concealed within the distinct cultural settings of Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Japan, France, and the United Kingdom. Disney has ensured a thoroughly engaging experience by incorporating three assignments and a culminating finale in each country, collectively forming an intricate tapestry of entertainment that spans approximately 25-30 minutes per mission.
