Everything you need to know about Christmas and holidays at Walt Disney World 2023

Disney has released detailed information about the Christmas and winter holiday festivities at Walt Disney World, marking the halfway point to the holidays.

One of the new attractions this year is Disney Jollywood Nights, a 10-night special-ticket event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. For more information on this event, you can refer to our separate article titled “Disney World adds new holiday ticketed event, Disney Jollywood Nights,” or watch the accompanying video.

Another new addition is the “Frozen Holiday Surprise” at Magic Kingdom. Guests will have the opportunity to join Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff, and the Snowgies in front of Cinderella Castle for a unique “Frozen”-inspired entertainment experience. The castle will be illuminated through projections rather than physical lights. The show will be available during regular park hours and also during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will be held on 25 select nights from November 9 to December 22 at the Magic Kingdom theme park. The event will feature popular attractions such as the stage show “Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration,” “Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks,” and “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade.” Guests can also enjoy attractions like the new Tron Lightcycle / Run, which will utilize a virtual queue during the event.

Tickets for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party are limited and can be purchased online starting from July 6, 2023. Guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, and Shades of Green can begin purchasing tickets as early as June 29, 2023, through DisneyWorld.com. Ticket prices range from $159 to $199 per adult and $149 to $189 per child (ages 3-9). The party dates are scheduled for November 9, 10, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 21, 22, 26, 28, 30, and December 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21, and 22.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios will also feature the Sunset Seasons Greetings event, where projection effects will transform the park icon into various holiday scenes accompanied by falling snow along Sunset Boulevard. In Toy Story Land, guests can spot Woody, Jessie, and Buzz donning their holiday attire. Additionally, Minnie Mouse and her friends will be available for a festive meal at the Hollywood & Vine restaurant.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom will showcase holiday-themed decorations and the return of the Merry Menagerie, featuring artisan-sculpted puppets representing winter animals. Guests can also enjoy the Tree of Life Awakenings Holiday Edition and meet Mickey and Minnie dressed in their holiday outfits.

Magic Kingdom will feature the Jingle Cruise, a holiday-themed transformation of the Jungle Cruise attraction. The entire adventure will be filled with festive elements.

Epcot will celebrate the International Festival of the Holidays from November 24 to December 30, 2023, featuring the Candlelight Processional. The festival will also include storytellers from around the world, joyful musical acts, and Holiday Kitchens in the World Showcase area. Visitors can meet Santa Claus at the Odyssey Pavilion from November 24 to December 24, 2023, and the greenhouses in the Living With the Land attraction will be adorned with holiday lights.

At Disney Springs, guests can enjoy holiday decorations, live entertainment, and the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll, which showcases 20 Christmas trees throughout the dining, entertainment, and retail complex. Additionally, snowfall can be experienced in the Town Center area, while Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar offers festive decor and holiday-inspired menu items.

Santa Claus will make special appearances in all four theme parks, Disney Springs, and even at Blizzard Beach water park, where he will be dressed in his tropical holiday beachwear.
