In Anaheim, California, Disneyland has unveiled its highly anticipated new attraction, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, just in time for the upcoming 100th anniversary celebration of the Walt Disney Company. Nestled within Disneyland’s Toontown, the captivating experience awaits visitors at El CapiTOON Theater.

However, as expected in classic cartoon fashion, chaos ensues when their lovable dog, Pluto, gets trapped in the car. And just when they think things couldn’t get any wilder, a sudden jolt sends them on an unexpected and exhilarating journey.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway starts off as a serene train ride but quickly escalates into a heart-pounding and wacky adventure through dynamically changing cartoon scenes. The meticulously designed ride captures the spirit of the iconic characters, showcasing their mischievousness and boundless energy.

Jeff Shaver-Moskowitz, the executive producer of the attraction and an executive portfolio producer for Imagineering at Disneyland Resort, expresses his excitement about finally sharing this imaginative experience with park guests. He reveals that it took an impressive six years to bring Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway to life, a testament to the dedication and attention to detail that Disney Imagineers poured into the project.

To manage the expected high demand, visitors eager to embark on this extraordinary journey will need to utilize a virtual queue system accessible through the Disneyland app. While waiting for their turn, guests will have the opportunity to explore the enchanting “Mickey through the Ears” exhibit. This exhibit showcases a captivating collection of props and costumes, tracing Mickey’s evolution from his early days to his iconic present.

Schwartz highlights the exhibition’s ability to evoke a sense of nostalgia and connection with Mickey Mouse, emphasizing that visitors of all ages can appreciate and relate to the timeless charm of the beloved character.
